This is it! Today is the last day applications can be mailed in for the Selective Service College Qualification test, to be given at the University of Washington the 18th and 19th of November. Kelly Toomey, registrar, said applications are available at the Edison South auditorium.
A passing grade on the test if a student stands in the bottom one-half of the freshman class or lowest one-third of the sophomore class will exempt him from military service. Administered by the Washington State Headquarters of the Selective Service System, the-test will be used as a guide and will not necessarily be the deciding factor if there is a transfer from a student deferment status to a 1-A classification.
This test is not mandatory but a student wishing to take the exam may take the deferment test only once.
